Stay back options and work permit in France
After completing graduation, students can stay back in France when they receive paid employment. To apply for resident permits students need to have a paid job. This rule follows for both undergraduate and postgraduate students. For postgraduate students, the rule is a bit relaxed in terms of stay back as they don’t need a job to acquire a temporary residence permit for the duration of 12 to 24 months. You need to find a permanent job in order to stay long in France.

- Work part-time (up to 20 hrs per week during semesters) and (964 hours annually).
- Full time ( 40 hrs per week during scheduled holidays)
Visa conditions
- If you have a long-stay visa serving as a residence permit (VLS-TS) it can be validated within 3 months after arriving in France.
- The short-stay visa is only limited to up to 3 months and is not extendable if you do not meet other criteria.
- The long-stay visa is valid for more than 3 months and to renew it on time students need to find a permanent job as well as accommodation.
